6063 T5 Aluminum Extrusion and Alloy Strength
The aluminum profiles that form the skeleton of our systems are produced from 6063 (AlMg0.7Si) alloy in accordance with international EN 755-9 tolerance standards and brought to their final mechanical values with T5 (Thermal) heat treatment. Magnesium (Mg) and Silicon (Si) alloys maximize corrosion resistance, while high extrusion capability ensures flawless production of complex profile cross-sections.
| Parameter (6063-T5) | Value / Limit | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Tensile Strength (Rm) | Min. 175 MPa | Maximum stress at the breaking point. |
| Yield Strength (Rp0.2) | Min. 130 MPa | The static limit where permanent deformation begins. |
| Modulus of Elasticity (E) | ~ 69 GPa | Flexural resistance under wind load. |
| Hardness (Webster) | 10 - 12 HW | Indicator of surface impact and scratch resistance. |
Polyamide Thermal Breaks
Aluminum is a material with high thermal conductivity (~200 W/mK). In insulated sliding and winter garden projects, fiberglass-reinforced 14.8 mm - 24 mm Polyamide (PA66 GF25) barriers are pressed between the profiles to cut the conduction between the outside air and the inside air. This process reduces the total heat transfer coefficient (Uf) of the profile by 70%.
